Your Concerns

My clients come to see me from all walks of life and with all kinds of difficulties and problems.

Mostly they need my help to feel better and to make the decisions or changes that will improve their wellbeing and their lives. Whatever your concerns, no matter how big or small they feel to you, there are usually ways to get relief and overcome them.

Mental Health

Anxiety is a normal emotion that we all experience at different times. It can range from mild uneasiness to a panic attack.

When we don't understand what is happening to us, these physical symptoms can feel extremely frightening and we can easily end up in a "cycle" of anxiety and panic.

Feeling down for all sorts of reasons is a normal part of being human. We may say we are depressed when we are feeling down but this does not always mean that we have depression.

When low mood is constant and persists for more than two weeks and affects our ability to do everyday things, we may need to seek help.

Stress is the feeling of being under too much mental, emotional or physical pressure whether the pressure is actual or imagined.

Stress affects the way we feel, how we think, how we behave and how our bodies work.  In fact, stress can affect just about everything that we do and impact on the people around us.

Relationships

When each of us enter into any relationship we bring with us our  histories and unresolved issues, our emotional and behavioural patterns, and our expectations.

Our past experiences will affect

how we perceive our present ones, how we react to situations, and

how we expect them to evolve.

We will all experience losses of some kind, such as the death of a loved one, the breakup of a relationship, or your children leaving home.

Feelings of loss could also come from losing a job, financial loss, moving from a familiar place, diminishing good health, or perhaps the loss of our hopes, dreams and ideals.

BEREAVEMENT & LOSS

It can be a very emotional time when a relationship or marriage breaks down and be a very fraught process, coming to terms with the end of what isn't to be.

If children are involved, it can be very challenging to protect them from the "fall out" and limit the suffering and potential damage to them.

POST-NATAL DEPRESSION

Having a baby is a life changing event.  It is normal to get the "Baby Blues" after the birth for a short time.

PND comes on gradually or all of a sudden.  Symptoms include feeling lonely, overwhelmed, unsupported, anxious, panicky, trapped, resentful,

and that things are not as enjoyable as you had hoped.

Pregnancy, whether planned or not changes everything and it’s very common to worry  about the future.

No matter how excited you are, you may struggle physically and feel vulnerable and low at times during your pregnancy.  If you think you’re feeling down or anxious a lot it is a good idea talk about it.

PREGNANCY

Trying to get pregnant can quickly take over your life, especially when it takes longer than you first expected.

Infertility is difficult emotionally and you can get sucked into a whirlpool of sadness and obsession and depression.

Despite many efforts to break the silence on infertility and pregnancy loss they still remain taboo subjects.

Emotional Wellbeing

Low self esteem can trigger feelings of anxiety, unworthiness, frustration, incompetence, guilt, and low energy.

We can find ourselves avoiding new opportunities and being drawn into destructive relationships. A lack of confidence can add to this and make us feel unequipped to deal with our problems.

CONFIDENCE & SELF ESTEEM

It is possible to heal from the maltreatment, bullying and abuse that we have suffered in our lives.

First, we need to acknowledge to ourselves how our experiences are still affecting us and then, make an active decision to embark on the healing process which requires commitment, courage and support.
