COVID-19: Keeping You Safe

Updated: Aug 25, 2020

I am offering online therapy to new clients

Since Lockdown, my existing clients and I have successfully adjusted to working together online.

Currently in these still very uncertain times, online therapy is still the safest means of therapy for all of us.

It is easy to set up and effective.

You can experience all of the benefits of regular face to face sessions from the safety and comfort of your own home.

The anxiety of venturing out unnecessarily especially if you are vulnerable or shielding is taken away.

I am pleased to now be in the position to offer online therapy to new clients. please contact me by phone or text on 07957 970784 or via my enquiry form on the front page of my site.

I am Now offering Face to Face Sessions for both Individual and Couple Counselling

After a detailed risk assessment, I have made preparations to begin offering face to face sessions from 1st September. This will be for a select number of counselling and psychotherapy sessions, for both new and returning clients.

I have a legal responsibility to protect myself, my clients and others from the risk of COVID-19.

As a result, I have made the following changes to ensure I can continue to offer a safe space as we adjust to the "new normal".

How will I keep you safe?

Before any face to face sessions can happen, new and returning clients must read and agree to the statements written in my COVID-19 Screening Policy regarding exposure to the disease. This ensures that any persons entering my premises are at a low risk of being infected with COVID-19, or infecting others.

Social distancing and face masks

My Therapy room has been rearranged so that when we are seated in our chairs, we are 2 metres apart. I Can accommodate both individuals and couples.

I will open the door wearing a mask and take you into my therapy room.

Because we are socially distanced once we are both seated, we will be able to remove our masks for the duration of the therapy session and then put them back on before you leave.

Cleaning and sanitising

Whilst I cannot eliminate the risk of COVID-19 completely, I have seriously thought about the risks of COVID-19 to my clients, myself and others and have done everything that is reasonably possible to minimise them.

There will be hand sanitiser available for you and tissues in a wipeable box.

A glass of lemon water can be provided for you. If you prefer you can bring your own water.

All surfaces in my room are washable and will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between each session. The room will have time to be properly aired before the next client arrives.

There is a toilet facility with plenty of hand wash. Paper hand towels are provided, which can be disposed of in the pedal bin. The toilet and handbasin will be sanitised after each use.

What I need you to do

Whether you are a new client or an existing client, you will need to make sure that you have read and agreed to the COVID-19 Screening Policy before you arrive for your session. You have a legal responsibility to inform me if your situation changes. If we decide it is no longer safe to continue with our face to face session, we will still be able to proceed online or over the phone instead.

You need to wear a mask on entering and leaving the building. Once we are settled in the room with a safe distance between us, we can remove our face coverings for the duration of the session.

Paying for your session

Online sessions: Please make sure that payment is transferred before the session starts. Alternatively, I can accept card payment at the start of the session (£1 charge).
